My name is Jo and I’m a psychotherapist and counsellor.
I work with clients in person in our Thame based therapy rooms and remotely via a secure platform.
Often, we don’t know exactly what is wrong when we think about going for therapy but know things feel too much and we are struggling to cope.

Generally, people feel that they have tried everything they can think of to fix things themselves, and nothing seems to work. In therapy we can explore options together and finally that can lead to positive changes.

Clients often recognise that past events may be influencing how they are coping with life today and need help to manage this.

When we reach out for therapy, we recognise we have been feeling low or anxious for a while and have now decided we want to get some help in overcoming this.

Sometimes terrible things can happen that totally derail us. With counselling we can begin to make sense of the world again and feel supported getting back on track.

If you make contact with me I am always happy to answer queries by email or arrange a time to talk on the phone before booking an appointment.

Psychotherapy and Counselling are umbrella terms that cover a range of talking therapies. Therapy is a confidential, collaborative process and we would work together to reach your own individual goals.

I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches and mindfulness practice to suit your specific needs.

I can work with you over a short or longer term, dependent on your distinct requirements, to bring about change and enhance your general wellbeing.

I believe therapy is a learning process and afterwards clients inevitably have an improved knowledge of themselves and new mechanisms for coping with life. This improved self-awareness and these better coping strategies are advantageous when dealing with challenges later in life.
What I can help with
Abuse, anger management, anxiety and panic attacks, bereavement/loss, bullying, depression/low mood, family/friendship issues, gender identity, low self-esteem, post-traumatic stress (PTSD), relationship problems, school issues, stress, trauma, work issues.
